Before end of 2017 in December, an Israel delegation signed new air transport agreements with several countries including Uganda, South Africa, and Tanzania from Africa.

The agreements will allow for direct flights and new routes amongst the involved African countries and Israel.

The new agreements were at a conference organized by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) held in Seri Lanka.

Implementation of these new agreements will not only improve the level of flight services, but also increase competitiveness amongst all the involved countries’ air-routes as well as lower fares and more passenger and cargo traffic to and from for all.

According to Israeli Minister of Transportation Yisrael Katz, these agreements will allow for more flights on the active air-routes as well as the launching of new air-routes and an increase in the number of code-share agreements signed by El Al Israel Airlines Ltd., the country’s flag carrier.

According to Mr. Katz, some of the agreements will come into effect as early as this year.

Do you think such agreements have a positive impact on the African mobilities? How?
